Focused on You

Each day of your adventure on a Wolfhound tour is tailor made to your likes, dislikes and abilities. If you've had enough of hiking and wandering, we'll spend time exploring more of Ireland's local crafts and art. We can stop off to trace family history, indulge in some retail therapy in local markets, or simply sit on a stone wall and watch the world go by. After all with Wolfhound ... it's your adventure.

Small Groups
Our small group sizes (max 16) mean that you have more time to explore more of Ireland at your pace.

Private 100% Irish Guide
You'll be guided round Ireland by your award-winning 100% Irish Wolfhound guide and you'll be entertained with myths, legends, poems, music, songs and local stories right from the horse's mouth as it were.

Superb Accommodation
Each night on a Wolfhound Adventure you'll stay in the finest B+B accommodation we could find. After a great day's adventuring you'll rest your head in cosy surroundings after exploring more of Ireland's local culture, her traditional pubs, her music and her tasty cuisine from fresh fish to locally farmed lamb.

Activity

Touring Ireland was once about sitting in a big coach and being herded from store to store. Not any more!

These days it's about getting into the landscape, breathing the fresh Irish air, hiking to those ancient lost places and exploring more.

Every day with Wolfhound features a mix of fun activities to make your Ireland Adventure unforgettable.

Heritage Hikes
Wolfhound walks are chosen to give you a reason to get out into the wilderness. Every day of your Wolfhound Adventure will feature a mix of hikes, wildlife and history. We have a flexible itinerary so you are free to explore more each day when you feel like it.

We'll clamber over stone walls and crawl into ancient tombs. We'll hike along ancient pilgrimage paths and walk to waterfalls and weather permitting we'll picnic on cliff tops and in summer meadows.

With Wolfhound you'll be guided on wonderful wilderness hikes into Ireland's past ... to ancient stone circles, castles and ruined ringforts; to world-heritage islands, monasteries, waterfalls and deserted beaches.

Wilderness Wanders
We drive into Ireland's most beautiful and remote places and then let you off to wander past the sheep and cows, through valleys and by forgotten lakes. You'll explore more at leisure and meet the locals in the fields, cottages and towns.

You'll find lost famine villages, discover up close Ireland's flora and fauna and all of this far away from the coach tours.

Other Wolfhound Adventures
Because of our small group sizes, we are able to partake in lots of other enjoyable activities. You can kayak with seals, learn to surf an Atlantic wave, go horse-riding on remote sandy beaches or rent a bike to explore. There's the chance to relax in the sea-weed baths of Ireland's West coast or take optional boat trips to magical Islands.

Wolfhound gives you the opportunity to explore more.

Wildlife

Exploring Ireland's history and heritage takes us also into the realm of Ireland's fantastically rich flora and fauna. From the everyday to the out of this world.

On a Wolfhound trip we never know what lies in store as we depart on our adventures but there are always surprises. Catch a glimpse of an Irish stoat or get up close and personal with whales, dolphins or the puffins and gannets off our West Coast.

For birders, there's always the chance of spotting a migrating hoopoe or osprey (no guarantees on this one!)

Conservation and Sustainability

As tourism moves towards Climate Positivity, from 2023 Wolfhound is proudly partnering with Reforest Nation to help in the re-wilding of Ireland and to increase biodiversity. A portion of every booking received will go towards native tree planting in Ireland. As the oak is the heraldic symbol of the O’Connors it’s nice to think we can do our bit to offset our carbon footprint in a meaningful and symbolic way. Ireland is still the least forested country in Europe so Wolfhound is delighted to be part of this important initiative. In 2023 we proudly helped to plant 500 native Irish Oak saplings.

As we all work towards a more sustainable future, Wolfhound is also a proud supporter of the conservation and scientific work of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group. If you'd also like to donate to this fantastic Irish wildlife charity and help us protect our diverse and precious marine creatures, please click here.

Wolfhound is also a proud member of Birdwatch Ireland (Ireland’s largest independent conservation organization), focused on the conservation of birds and biodiversity in Ireland. To contribute to their efforts you can donate here.
